Unique Skull Jewelry (1)

In Accessories, Necklaces, Rings on May 6, 2011 at 9:24 am

Skull jewelry is a weird stuff??? …C’mon!!! Definitely not for me!!!

Jewelry reflects our personality. If you are tough and bold by nature, then skull jewelry is perfect for you. You can make a stand out statement only by wearing unique skull jewelry.

Skull rings are one of the hottest trends in skull jewelry, because it could add attitude by itself to any outfit. Such a skull ring worn was also spotted on famous celebrities, Angelina Jolie and Paris Hilton.

For those of you, who are inspired by high-end fashion, can choose skull crossbones jewelry. Whatever others will say, I always consider it as a symbol of good luck and fortune.

Above is Ed Hardy inspired Love Kills Slowly black crystal skull ring. I bought it a few years ago. Trendy, right?!

My flower skull ring is beautiful also. Black enamel skull decorated with colorful flowers makes it super quirky.

Then you can see my silver crystal skull necklace, got it while I was in China. Still one of my favourite necklaces until today.

I still have a lot of skull jewelries, but doesn’t have time yet to take pictures. Will post it later 🙂

Antique Vintage Inspired Resin Necklaces

This blue pink translucent pendant is made of resin and it includes gold moss. Perfect for the stylish woman who wants something extraordinary and distinctive.

Still made of resin and includes gold moss on it. The resin mandala cabochon is placed on a gold bezel pendant. Imagine how gorgeous this necklace would look on spring season. You can also dress it down, by wearing it peeking out from the neckline of a white tailored men’s shirt paired with your favorite jeans.

That morning I couldn’t decide what kind of clothes I wanted to wear. So I just randomly grabbed and this is the result..

Me in bright blue tanktop with white jeans, although you can’t see my jeans here. Combined it with knitted red bolero. I wasn’t satisfied until I added my red round necklace to enhance the color. Now I’m ready to go! 🙂

Yunnan Necklace (2)

In Accessories, Necklaces on April 27, 2011 at 7:31 am

According to the Chinese women who sells this pretty necklace, she’s been using some materials to make it. Such as hard plastic material, animal teeth and bones, also elephant ivory. For the last one, I prefer not since elephant has been included to rare animals. It’s really cruel and barbaric to hurt animal just for your looks.

Mine is made from animal bones. Still fine when I wore it in the first few hours, until I had aching neck in the night. I guessed because this kind of necklace is really heavy. Definitely only recommended for short time wearer.

Yunan Necklace (1)

In Accessories, Necklaces on April 27, 2011 at 4:29 am

So many Yunnan necklaces in my closet. I still have a lot of things left to post until I’m all caught up, but right now I just want to post something random here.

Yunnan is a province of China. The province borders Burma, Laos, and Vietnam. Its capital, Kunming, is one of the top tourist cities in China. Among the rich and colorful costumes of Yunnan Province’s ethnic minorities, silver adds the “finishing touch.” People who have visited ethnic minority regions in Yunnan will be impressed by the various types of silver accessories worn by women and children.

A large part of silver accessories are used by children, particularly silver locks. Since children are more vulnerable to disease and accidents, it is believed that wearing locks can “lock” life and drive away evil. Such silver accessories are mostly handed down from their mothers and grandmothers, like rings and bracelets sent by their lovers or fiancés as keepsakes. When they get married, they wear beautiful silver accessories all over their bodies to show that this is the best time of their lives. After the wedding, the girls become mothers and wear more decent, elegant silver accessories to indicate their status as housewives.

Ever seen such a pretty necklace above? In Indonesia, they claim it as their own. However, this one is originally from Yunnan. With coral color, makes it really bright in real life. One of my favourite!

Ethnic Wood and Resin Necklaces

In Accessories, Necklaces on April 26, 2011 at 8:04 am

Just got these gorgeous necklaces at one of Indonesian annual event, called Inacraft 2011.

First time I walked into the JCC (Jakarta Convention Centre) Hall, there is one interesting shop that caught my eyes, named Jamilah Fashion. But instead of selling clothes, this shop provides many kinds of Indonesian ethnic jewelries. So far I’ve seen all of them are handmade and unique. The best thing is they don’t sell Chinese accessories, many people sell it already though. What makes it worse, they bullied customers by telling them its from Kalimantan, Sulawesi and even Irian Jaya, or just randomly referring to other provinces in Indonesia. Just tell the truth, people! Really embarassing to claim other country handicraft as our own. For a few years I had been living in China, so I’m very familiar with made in China accessories.

I’m soooo falling in love from the first sight. Yellow!!!! I couldn’t resist!!  Hurry, must put it into my shopping basket before somebody else find it!!! You see, I’m a jewelry addict. I will feel naked without earrings, rings and necklaces.. and oops! I like bracelets too. Nothing in this world could make me take one accessory off when I’m outside the house.

“Must be mine!!!” Couldn’t think other than that. Unique teardrops shape, colorful too! This one definitely represents who I am. On that day I wore casual cool orange top. After done with payment, I was in such a rush to put it on my neck. Tadaaaa!!! Later on, I found myself even walked with more confident.. haha.

What do you think when I do mix and match of spoon necklace and batik? Ok, I know “spoon necklace” sounds ugly. But I couldn’t find a better name. Anyway, my combination looks so ethnic, rite?!! C’mon, you must agree with me on MY blog haha.

I just love the idea of this jewelry maker. As you can see, those handcrafted wooden spoons usually just for home decoration accents. But here, I was so impressed they could magically make it into beautiful necklace. And don’t forget to pay attention to other material, plaited glass coaster!!

Still using plaited glass coaster. Take a look at necklace’s robe, has different designs between right and left. Above necklace is truly my favorite ’cause it’s not such a common and boring necklace.

Overall, all of them are very fabulous. Admire the designer!
